About us

The program of Bachelor of Visual Arts is designed as a main creative experience within visual and educational events where the individual looks for him/herself through experimentation, pedagogy and art, in order to meet him/herself and find them with a responsible creative, analytical and critical attitude.

This bachelor offers students the opportunity to develop their concerns about the field of visual art education since it is designed to guide their search through a constant construction of meaning and coherence thanks to an ongoing inquiry about specific historical conditions of the times we live in.

Visual pedagogy is seen as a group of reflections, actions and productions that allow the students an understanding of the visual culture they are part of, so that based on that individual and collective learning processes can be created and promoted.

The academic proposal of the Bachelor of Visual Arts is characterized by retaking from diverse pedagogic practices and tendencies, something which allows reviews and re-working of visual art education. This suggests the generation of an academic field made by teachers and researchers from different disciplines, interests and educational possibilities in the local field with the academic training and the experience to understand and expand cultural options in our country.

It is very important for us to strengthen the professional identity of the teacher, his/her appreciation and objectives in the social context as a culture worker, someone able to conceive and carry out educational projects that affect the life quality of Colombian society.

Resolution 1036 MEN of April 22, 2004 - SNIES Code 52199 of 29-06-2006. Adopted by resolution 058 of Dec. 10, 2004, the Supreme Council of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional.
